Hi, I'm David Clough, an experienced musician and teacher based in the Rochdale area.
I started lessons and reading music from the age of 6 years old. I actually started out playing keyboards and piano, but at 16 went to study music at college and fell in love with the drums. That's well over 20 years ago now, and I still have the same passion for drums today.
During this time, I've been lucky enough to get the opportunity to play and gig with many talented, local musicians and have really enjoyed playing in local bands. I've also studied under some fantastic drummers, including widely regarded blues drummer Rick Lacey, and Chris Joyce, mostly known for his time as the drummer with Simply Red.
In addition, I have many years of experience in teaching, across a wide and varied range of subject areas, and hopefully I can use this ability to explain concepts, to provide you with patient, empathetic and more importantly, fun tuition.
The Drumsense programme is a really engaging and enjoyable way to learn to play the drums. Stick techniques, dynamics, and rudiments as well (if you wish), all come a few lessons down the line - these are all important parts of developing as a drummer. But to kick off, we will be looking at rocking out to your first drum beats, drum fills and playing along to your first songs following a structured, professional, tried and tested programme of learning.
I can provide advice on purchasing your first drum kit, setting it up, tuning and gigging advice.
I currently offer lessons at a teaching studio, in Rochdale, and can also offer home tuition in the area for anyone who is unable to travel.
Sound like fun ...? I would welcome your call.
