Biography

Since the age of 10 when my parents brought me my first drum kit in order to save their kitchen wear, my life revolved around music and playing the drum kit as much as possible.. Growing up with a father who played the bass helped my grasp on the instrument, as we could relate to one another in musical terms. I also believe this helped me stay interested at such a young age.

From the age of 11, whilst in school, I had lessons which involved the City & Guilds root, of which I found was quite a military approach to playing the drums and one I didn't like too much. From there I played in several bands in school whilst fighting my way through the perks of growing up. I soon stopped the lessons because of this, but my drumming interest did not stop there. From leaving school my musical ambitions have been to join as many bands as possible and play with as many different musicians as I could find, as I believe this is the best way to learn an instrument.

From the age of approx 22-27 I had drum lessons through the Drumsense network. I found this a very practical and interesting way of learning the drums and learnt more about drums than I ever thought I would. I loved this teaching experience so much, I established a need to show and share what I have experienced. I now teach the drums and really enjoy it.

The bands I have been in have been local rock bands which main interests were the enjoyment of playing live, and social entertainment. The idea of getting in a full time band will always interest me, however developing my own skills and sharing them with others is what I am enjoying right now.
