Rob Cooper

I head the Drum teaching team at Holmes Music in Swindon. I also teach at 4 schools and also teach from a studio in Royal Wootton Bassett. I have 20 years teaching experience and over 30 years playing experience.

I teach students of all abilities and all ages. I offer a free taster lesson for each new student. I teach one-to-one lessons of 30 minutes, 45 minutes and 1 hour in duration. Remote video lessons are available too.

Beginner students start by studying rhythms and fills and then play these along to backing tracks. More experienced students can study technique, different styles of music, notation and chart reading. Students can also study for grades with the Drumsense, Trinity or Rockschool syllabuses.

In 1995 I studied at Drumtech in West London, on their One Year Diploma Course in Drum kit and percussion. I have also studied and passed Grade 8 with Rockschool and attended various Jazz and Summer courses.
I continue to study today, with the help of Colin Woolway's tutorials as part of the Drumsense program for teachers.

I have played a wide range of music over the years, from touring the U.K., Europe and a tour of Japan with Punk Rock legends 2 Sick Monkeys, to playing percussion for Royal Wootton Bassett Brass Band and local theatre groups. I have also enjoyed performing with Blues bands, Big band Jazz, Ska bands and playing sessions for various local Brass bands.
